The BC Education ministry has provided the Curriculum Publications CD-ROM Version 10 to all BC universities, colleges and all schools. You can also obtain copies of the CD-ROM from Government Publication Services.

NEW Provincial Exam Specifications Posted

The B.C. Ministry of Education has posted the new Science 10 Exam Specifications. Visiting the page page provides information on changes and revisions pertaining to the new curriculum 2008/2009. You can download all the documents directly from the following links:

French Resources

The BC Education Ministry has posted a French translation of the Integrated Resource Package for Science 8. The document can be downloaded here.

Science 9 and 10 Curriculum Drafts

The final drafts for Science 9 (for implementation September 2007) and Science 10 (for implementation in September 2008) are now posted on the ministry's DRAFT IRP site - http://www.bced.gov.bc.ca/irp/drafts.

Lionel's Update - A Review of Junior Science Resource and Curriculum Development in Canada

Lionel Sandner, President of Edvantage Press offers his thoughts on B.C. and Canadian science curricula:

"Over the past couple of months I've had many calls about how the new BC 8 - 10 IRP compares to other provinces and the Pan Canadian Science Framework.  The following link is a summary of my thoughts that attempts to answer some of these questions.  Using the Pan Canadian, Ontario and Alberta curriculum documents and a focus on the Fluids unit, you can read how I reached the conclusion that our BC IRP is at least 33% different than the present Ontario and Alberta science curricula."
